Okay so I know Christmas is less than a week away, but I am so behind so this is still going to work for me! But even if you’re Christmas is all done and organized you can remember this for next year.
So I created a checklist with 5 major columns, and under each of those columns are a bunch of check-boxes for different activities, parties, gifts etc that you need to schedule, accomplish, shop for etc. This is a great over-view type of document that you can use to schedule all your various Christmas happenings. Since everyone’s Christmas activities are so vastly different, I made this form an EDITABLE PDF file. You can’t change the categories ( I should have done that too, but it’s too late now!) but you can change all the existing checkbox text as well as add text to all of the existing checkboxes. And you can save the file and reprint next Christmas so you have a good idea of all the things you need to do for Christmas.

And since Christmas is a week away, I created a simple Christmas Countdown with 7 days leading up to Christmas. This one will have to be printed out to be filled in, but you can quickly write up all the things you need to get done this week… like STARTING TO SHOP for Christmas gifts… or is that just me??

How many parts will there be? That I am not sure yet! But I do know that I’ve been having so much fun decorating!

TA DA! My fireplace is almost done being decorated. I stayed up way too late last night getting my eclectic halloween banner finished. I do have a few things still left to do – the chalkboard will have a creepy recipe or saying on it, and the burlap frame will have some sort of art pined to it, but really it’s ALMOST done, and it looks fantastic. I am so happy with how it’s turned out.
If you would like a detailed step-by-step tutorial on the banner, visit my halloween banner tutorial blog post at Design House Digital. I didn’t want it to get too wordy over there so I saved a few things for my blog. First thing was that I used burlap ribbon for the base-layer. I took this bolt of ribbon that I had (bought it clearance from Ballard designs last year for like $6), and basically hand pleated and fed it through my machine in a very sloppy manner. I wanted the whole thing to look spooky and unkempt.

Once I had a bunch of it pleated, I hung it on my mantle to make sure it was a good length.

Once I was happy with the length and draping, I cut it to size and then started building my flags.

You can read a bit more about that process on the Design House Digital blog. But basically I used my new Vintage Findings Halloween digital papers, printed them out and made some super cute flags using the printed out papers, plus some doilies, ribbons, and My Mind’s Eye brads. I did take some pictures about the process of staining the doilies, but I’ll post about that later next week.

What I wanted to share with all my readers is an awesome free download of the .SVG files (cutting files for digital cutters) for the banner shapes and the letters for this project (If you don’t have a cutter that will cut SVG files, I’ve also included a template that you can print out and use to cut your shapes by hand).

Just a quick free download of my Birthday Calendar. This was in the 2010 version of my planner, but not in the 2011 version, so I thought I’d share it. I added editable forms to this printable PDF, so you should be able to type in your birthdays, save, and update later… and of course print as often as you like. Enjoy!

Valentine’s day is sneaking up! I have some projects in the works, but I’ve been getting ready for CHA so I haven’t had time to finish and share them. I did however release a digital line of valentine’s kits that are sooooo cute, so I wanted to share those with you. I also have 2 free valentine downloads, those will be at the bottom of the post, so keep reading!
The first thing I want to show you is an adorable “Ten reasons why I’m crazy about you” quick album that I designed. This is really awesome and I’m going to finish mine and print it out for Mr. Project for V-day this year. Basically it consists of TEN 5″x7″ pages where you can quickly drop in photos and your text, or simply drop in your photos, print and then hand-write your text. I am super exited about this meaningful album. It’s available in my shop at Design House Digital.

I also have a bunch of Smitten papers, elements and heart sets in my shop. This mini kit is 30% off Thursday Jan 21 ONLY.

My Favorite one are these paisley stamps:

So now to the freebies! My friend and Design House Decorator Tiffany Bodily Made this adorable Photo valentine. The file is a PNG file (like my quick album), where you can drop your photo under the image layer and then print it out.

I made a cute printable valentine that doesn’t require any work or know-how:

Both valentine cards measure 3″wide by 4″ tall when printed. They are each set up on their own 8.5×11 sheet for easy printing. These cards are for PERSONAL use only and can only be downloaded from www.theprojectgirl.com. If you find these downloads available elsewhere, please contact me using the contact link on this site. Happy Valentine’s day!
