Live from CHA favorites of the show Pt. 1 *Picture Heavy

January 31st, 2012

I’m having a blast at CHA and I’ve even been wearing my flats so my feet are doing okay too. I’ve taken tons of pictures and seen lots of cute cute stuff, so here is a compilation of some of my favorites…

I always love Crate Paper, and Lisa (the owner) is just such an awesome lady.  The two new lines this show have got to be some of my absolute FAVORITE of anything Crate Paper has ever done. Just love the colors and style:

I’m not normally into the Pebbles style, but I just LOVED this cute display

I also loved the new October Afternoon lines. The cute secretary paper is to die for!

I seriously fell in love with this adorable line from Websters Pages. I’m not sure what it’s called, but it’s kind of a storybook/fairytale line and the colors are so gorgeous, it’s definitely one to see in person.

And for all you party-throwing ladies, Clearbags.com has the cutest little boxes that fit gumballs. I’m so excited to create some cute party favors for my next party!

Jillibean soup had some super cute lines including an adorable typewriter paper. I loved this cake that they made:

I also liked the styling of the new Heidi Swapp stuff, and her booth was really cute too.

She had two of these cases and the contents and wording changed each day!

I have so many other pics, so I’ll post more when I get a chance. Tomorrow is a travel day so It might take a day or two.

Live from CHA winter 2012 – MME Booth! *photo heavy*

January 30th, 2012

Hey Everyone! I’m at CHA having fun but missing my little guy and of course Mr. Project too.  Saturday was set-up and these are pictures from set-up day.  My new line is Miss Caroline and it has 4 different color sets:Dolled Up

Dilly Dally

Howdy Doody

Fiddlesticks

There are lots of cute accessories including these cute button & pin cards, twine, stamps, brads, pearls, and even rub-ons which look amazing rubbed-on to wood background paper! I’ll just have to make some layouts or cards to show you!

here is the booth set up. The little flags and paper chandelier are made with Rhonna Farrer’s new “follow your heart” line. Which I don’t have a picture of, but I’ll get one today.

Miss Caroline paper is mod podged on that suitcase! And the lunchbox! Plus a smattering of layered stickers made a fast and easy altered project.

And there is this cute antique type-writer that is adorable and best of all it’s “The Oliver Typewriter Co.” I am seriously going to take it when MME is done using it!

I have tons more pictures from my favorite booths, and I’ll take more of the other MME releases today. What are you wanting to see at CHA? And who are you wanting to meet? Yestereday I met Elizabeth Kartchner, Noell Hyman, Kelly Purkey, Paige Evans, Margie Aslett-Romney, and the adorable Teresa Collins.

CHA Summer 2010 – My Mind’s Eye

July 30th, 2010

I’m sorry ahead of time for how long this post may take to load. It’s VERY heavy on the photo side! But also very heavy on the fun side!

I just got back from CHA and I’m exhausted, but I had to share all these lovely photos of the My Mind’s Eye Booth. Particularly the line that I designed called Lost & Found. If you’re a regular reader, you’ll have noticed that I took a bit of a break from blogging. The reason was because I was working my tail off getting this gorgeous line designed! I am so in love with it – but photos just don’t do it justice. It must be experienced in person! The glitter is amazing and the designs are timeless and beautiful.

Here is me standing in front of the display — I should have taken this photo on the first day of the show — at this point, I just wanted to go home and see my hubby.

Lost & Found has all sorts of goodies — including acrylic stamps, layered stickers, 3-d embellishments, trims, brads (epoxy, pearl, flower), chipboard album covers & rings, buttons, alpha stickers, and all sorts of glittery bits and pieces.

My most favorite project at the MME booth was a mini album that Amber Packer created using the “Union Square” papers and pieces. It’s all black, cream, and red — and 100% gorgeous. Don’t forget the amazing red glitter that is already on almost everything in the Union Square collection.

There was another lovely mini album – created with two sets of album covers from the “Market Street” collection. I’m not sure who this one is by, though Amber will probably let me know.  My Most favorite part of this album was the use of my banner acrylic stamps. She must have stamped different colors on cream paper and then cut them out to create these adorable banners inside the mini album.

Here are those stamps — also you can see the awesome coral glitter that is all over the Market Street Collection.

Here are some photos of each of the sides of the display so you can get an idea of how much product is in this line (and why I’ve been missing for so long). I’m tired just looking at it all! That’s 40 double-sided papers folks!

And here are a few little close-ups – hopefully you can see some of the foil glitter detailing.

I can’t believe I didn’t get any close-ups of the buttons! They are one of my favorite items — all the sets look like mixed vintage sets of buttons like you would find in an antique shop – and they are sewn to little unique button cards. So fun!

Here are some of the amazing Lost & Found layouts by the Design Team:

And a few close-ups – notice the crepe paper trim in this one — thats part of the line!

I keep hearing over and over again how easy it is to build layouts with this line. I love to hear that!

And here is one of my favorite photos… if you squint hard enough you can see my teeny little name there by the logo. Love it!

Well thats all the photos I have for Lost and Found. Hopefully you can get a good idea for what the line looks like. It will be in stores VERY SOON — 2-3 weeks! This is a great time to ask your LSS if they are going to carry it though — if they get their order in soon then they’ll get it right after the shops who ordered it at CHA.

Of course this wasn’t the only line that My Mind’s Eye debuted at CHA. There were lots of other goodies too!

First off we have Zoe Pearn’s Alphabet Soup. This line is so adorable! My favorite part are the matching decks of ABC cards. I can think of a million cute things to do with those! The chipboard and epoxy brads are fabulous too.

Next we have Halloween. These two lines are done by Deena Rutter (top) and Carina Gardner (bottom). Blackbird is all illustrated and such a cute line. Haunted is kraft paper that has white printed on it as well as black flocking which feels like velvet. It’s beautiful and such a unique Halloween line. I love both of these lines and hope that they jump off the shelves!

Last but not least, here is Christmas! This is actually my Christmas line called Holly Jolly. I am so happy how it printed out. The colors are very vibrant without looking garish. I think I’m going to cover some wood blocks or something with it. I can’t wait to play! Also I need to get started early this year on neighbor gifts — now that I actually know people here.

Here you can see both Christmas releases from MME – Holly Jolly & I believe.

And finally here is a shot of the booth from the outside… This was at the end of set-up so it’s a bit candid and you can see everyone taking a load off and resting. My favorite part is the vacuum cleaner.

This one is less messy — from the front:

Sorry about the bad quality of all these photos — I’m not the best photographer and the lighting is horrid inside convention centers. Hopefully you got a good feel for Lost and Found and also all the other fun lines that My Mind’s Eye released at CHA Summer 2010! Thanks for reading all the way to the bottom! Maybe next CHA you can come meet me at the show!

Quite Contrary – CHA 2010

January 19th, 2010

Logo-QC-02

For those of you who are avid scrapbookers and papercrafters, you might know about CHA the semi-annual crafting trade-show. CHA is in just a few short days and I have an adorable paper line coming out by My Mind’s Eye called Quite Contrary. My good friend Zoe Pearn and I collaborated on the design of this paper line to bring you 40 fun and beautiful papers and 80 a-la-cart accessories. I wanted to show you a few of my favorite elements, but I love all the pieces so much! You can see them all at My Mind’s Eye.

Check your local scrapbook store in the next few weeks when it hits stores. Be sure to ask for it by name so that your store will know that they need to order it in if they haven’t already.  I can’t wait to get my hands on it and make some fun projects as well as see all the amazing things that crafters are making with it too! I’ll be posting here from CHA with lots of updates and photos!

CHA 2009 – My top picks

January 25th, 2009

Today was a great day at CHA. I saw so many great craft products and even more great ideas for projects to make with the projects. Lots of fuel for my blog. As promised, I took more pictures and I even compiled them into a top 5.

#1 My Mind’s Eye Of course my number one has to be My Mind’s Eye. Not just because I work there, but because they have truly beautiful paper. The giant tree with an owl was just gorgeous to see in person, and I loved the die-cut papers with Deena Rutter’s beautiful illustrations. And we cannot forget (cause she’ll hurt me) Carina’s beautiful Bella Bella. Love it all!cha3

#2 Tim Holtz! (If you have watched Arrested Development, that’s even funnier) I met Tim Holtz this past year at a CKU, he’s such a great guy and a huge fan of just being creative. Everything that Tim does is with such great execution. He is so talented and I am constantly in awe of what he creates both as products and as beautiful art. I loved all the great touches in his booth like these stacked vintage suitcases.

#3 Silk Screen Machine. Provo Craft just released the YUDU — for those of you who have no idea how to pronounce that – its “You Do”. Yeah. Anyway, besides the interesting name, the product is truly amazing. I cannot wait to get my hands on this sucker and do some really awesome projects.

#4 All things cupcake. The craze that has swept the nation, is now sweeping CHA. I saw tons of very cute cupcake papers, crafts, ideas, samples, projects etc. All were so very sweet (hehe). I took a few photos and this is my favorite! A glittery decorative cupcake at the doodlebug designs booth.

#5 Cute Desks. Utilitarian desks were all over the place. We saw a great desk with a glass top and full length drawers that fit 12×12 papers. And I got a photo of this adorable green sewing desk and super fabulous (and back-supporting) padded chair. My other favorite desk had collapsable panels and a cutting mat that fit the entire top surface. I really need to get something this functional for my space.

cha5There were so many great products at CHA, but these were 5 things that I really loved. If you went to CHA please share what you loved, I know I missed so many great things!

Oh! I almost forgot! We had some space-visitors at CHA this year and they were nice enough to pose with Me & Carina.
