burlap and glitter thanksgiving placemats – cricut design space star

The thing that I love most about my Cricut Explore is that it cuts everything I give it. Usually I’m doubtful going into the cutting, and every single time the explore comes through and cuts even better than I imagined it would.  Cutting burlap was no different. I found this awesome Laminated Burlap and I thought it would work out great because it’s already backed with a laminate that would keep it from moving on the cutting mat.

It cut my placemats like a dream!

To complete the placemats, I cut some heat-transfer glitter vinyl (mirrored the image first).

And then ironed it on to the center of the placemat.

I cut two different shapes of placemats and two different sayings – Give Thanks and Thankful so I could use these on my thanksgiving table.

The glitter is awesome, and the placemats turned out so pretty.

Here you can see the cut edge and how nice it looks:

Hello I really liked your placemats, can you tell me what size you cut them and what setting on cricut explore you used. I am a new criut explore owner.

I used the fabric+ setting. The laminated burlap is 12″ wide, and the cricut cuts about 11.5″. I used a 12×24 mat and cut them about 16″ long, but you could go up to 23.5″
