Project House Powder Room Inspiration & Style Guide

June 10th, 2013

Now that we’re a GO on the design, I’ve been feverishly trying to nail down all the finishes and fixtures for the house. I should have all these plans done in the next few weeks so we can start ordering stuff while we’re waiting for the house to go through engineering and permitting.

I’m super excited for our Powder Room or Half Bath on the main floor. I love powder rooms because they are a high-traffic area that you can really have fun with the styling of. I played around with the idea of wallpaper for this room, but in the end decided on a subtle cream paint. Eventually I might do some sort of patterned stencil if I can find something that feels right for the space.

Covington Sconce – Pottery Barn

Covington Hardware – Pottery Barn

Tresham Toilet – Kohler

3×6 Subway Tile (Wainscot) –

Carrara Basketweave (Floor) –

Oval Vessel Sink –

Mannerly Wall Faucet – Moen

Grand Palais Mirror (24×48) – Ballard Designs

I can’t believe that floor tile from BuildDirect is only $7.05/sq ft. I’ve wanted a basket weave tile floor for a long time – I can’t wait to see it all come together!

I found my vanity at a vintage market and I absolutely love it! It’s such a unique piece and the perfect size for converting into a plumbed vanity. The blue color that it was painted is growing on me, however, I’m leaning towards a more bold color. Here are the colors I’ve picked, which one do you like?? I am leaning towards the clearspring green which is like a dark jade/light emerald green color.

Love the green or the blue definitely like the idea of a statement colour especially if you’ve chosen creams and whites for the rest of the styling.
