Kitchen reveal!
October 7th, 2011I am so excited that the window-side of the kitchen is done! Its like 99.9% done just a few tiny details to finish up. Last night after the sink doors went on, Mr. Project and I just stared at it for nearly an hour. It’s just so beautiful like a work of art. Click here for a couple of before shots, plans, and inspiration.
I am so in love with the wood countertops. They look better than I could have ever imagined.

The countertops were so long that we had to make them out of two slabs of cherry. Mr. Project put in “butterfly keys” to keep the slabs from separating. We decided to do this in a dark “wenge” wood and have it be a fun contrast detail on the countertop.
And now onto the cabinets! Ahhhhhhh they are so beautiful and just absolutely perfect. I wish they were easier to photograph!
Now I really really want to finish my pretty roman shades!
The sink is so pretty, and I love love love my bridge faucet. Everything has just a little bit of country charm.

The tall cabinet on the left side of the sink cabinet is a pull-out garbage/recycling center with two trash bins.
We went with a latch on the sink cabinet:
And here is the “panel” dishwasher dish drawers. They turned out so beautiful and don’t detract at all from this side of the kitchen.
The kick plate on the dishwasher drawers is one of the last things that has to be finished.
I can’t believe its done!!

WOW that looks amazing, I am so jealous!! Very nice, congrats.
GORGEOUS!!! the counter, the cabinets, the WALL OF WINDOWS… absolutely dreamy!!!
It’s beautiful, Jen. Kudos to Mr Project… what a talent he has. The countertops are so slick. And it all looks amazing together.
AMAZING! I’ve so enjoyed watching this kitchen come together. It is absolutely beautiful. Well done, Mrs. & Mr. Project.
What a beautiful kitchen! I’d LOVE to bake and cook in there! And the latch on the cabinet under the sink is a great idea!
But I must ask…is it really open underneath the cabinets? That kind of scares me, I think.
Beautiful
LOL It’s not open under, There is a set-back kick plate the same as regular cabinets, only it’s stained to match the flooring so that it looks open
I’m in love with your kitchen too! It looks like it will host many fabulous parties.
Where did you beautiful hardware come from? So lovely!
Michelle – We got the 8″ pulls from Restoration hardware
I am in love!! I love how the counter reminds me of a boat.

Where did you get those? What company made them??
Beth – my husband built all the cabinets himself
