Free Advertising November

September 23rd, 2011

Do you run an etsy shop? An up-and-coming blog? a craft-related business? a small photography studio? A digital scrapbooking or printables shop? If so, have I got a deal for you! In November I would like to help promote your business FOR FREE. In the past month TheProjectGirl.com has attracted more than 210,000 individual page views. The majority of readership is made up of Women 25-45 who have children, homes, and a love for crafting. If you have been contemplating purchasing advertising, but have been hesitant to spend the money, this is the perfect opportunity to see if you will get a positive response from banner advertising without costing you a cent.

So why am I doing this? Because I truly think that it’s important to support the community of independent crafters — especially right before the holiday season. I also want to foster a relationship with crafters and photographers who are trying to get their names out there and may be interested in possible sponsorships in the future. So what do you need to do? Simply send in your submissions so I can show off your goodies… it’s as easy as 1.2.3!

1.Choose one of these options:

A. 150×150 graphic ad on my side-bar
B. 150×150 graphic ad on my side-bar + your shop or product mentioned in a holiday shopping guide on my blog
C. 150×150 graphic ad on my side-bar + Product reviewed in a blog post

2. Email me the option of your choice – jenallyson {at} theprojectgirl.com. ** Please put the words “free advertising november” in the subject line.

3. Include in your email: (based on #1)

A. Shop name and link + 150×150 ad graphic
B. Shop name and link + 150×150 ad graphic + image(s) of your favorite/most popular items + shop logo.
C. Shop name and link + 150×150 ad graphic + Description and image of physical product. If it is something that I’d like to review/endorse, I’ll have you ship it to me (it will be mailed back to you if you provide the cost of return shipping)

4. Post about Free Advertising November on your blog (optional)

So there you have it! I am excited to see your awesome shops and blogs. Please take a moment to share Free Advertising November with your friends. If I get a good response this year, I’d love to continue to offer this as an annual event.

I think I’m in love -or- I finally found kitchen backsplash tile!

September 22nd, 2011

So I have been on a quest…. a quest for backsplash tile. It has been a discouraging quest at times, but today I think I found what I’m looking for! I have been looking for a tile similar to this one:

A subway tile with a lot of aqua and taupe tones with depth to the color. I thought it was a frosted glass tile, so that’s what I’ve been searching for. But today I went to a an awesome local shop and found this:

Why, hello beautiful! The color variation is a bit different than the inspiration photo, but it has that same warm feel without being tuscan or modern. And its quite a bit more unique than white subway tile. The cool thing about these tiles is that each color that you buy (this sample shows two) has a lot of variation within one box. So if you mix 2 or 3 colors of tile together, it’s going to look like you have 10 or more subtle shades going on. I absolutely love it and am so excited to pick out the colors and get it ordered!

September 22nd, 2011

I cannot tell you how excited I am for Halloween this year. I completely blame it on Pinterest... after seeing so many gorgeous Halloween decoration, party, costume ideas, I just became obsessed with decorating and creating so many fun projects. Well any project girl needs some good printable patterned papers to go with her grand ideas… so I designed 22 awesome halloween-themed designs (12×12 halloween digital scrapbooking papers ). I am so so so excited to print a bunch of these suckers out and work on some projects. I’m hoping I’ll finish this deadline by this weekend and be able to work on some spooky projects.

And for those of you who are digitally talented, I also made some creepy elements and scary digital stamps! These are great for digital scrapbooking, party favors, stationary and other freaky projects:

If that doesn’t get you in the mood for Halloween, then I don’t know what will! These 4 individual kits and the giant collection kit are all 30% off TODAY ONLY! So if you’re interested, pick these up today and you’ll definitely be ahead of the game.

October Photography challenge… get ready!

September 21st, 2011

In light of last weeks photography FAIL I decided that I need to be better about taking photos. I also feel like I need to tell more storiesĀ  – or rather have more stories behind photoss vs. just taking cute photos of Ollie. Anyway, I’m hoping this will be a kick in the pants to take more and more thoughtful photos, as well as get me in the habit of actually taking photos on a more regular basis.

I found this challenge via That Wife and she found it via twitter and The Wired Lives (love that name), and I think she found it via it’s original starter White Peach Photo … I think that’s how it goes… I don’t know! You guys know I’m terrible at stuff like this, I just want to take the photos not explain the genesis of it all!! I’d love to have you join me too! I’m sure we could all use a little motivation to take more photos.
