Weekly Wrap-up

July 10th, 2011

Home Ownership: We had our first infestations this week… ANTS and house guests. The house guests were fun, the ants, were not. It was hard to be a hostess with the house in total chaos (I couldn’t even find a large bowl to make salad), and with Mr. Project away on a business trip. But we all survived and there was fun to be had at the Jelly Belly factory and our sparkling blue pool.

Baby: Ollie turned 4 months this week. I can’t believe how fast this past month has gone – even faster than normal because of the move. He is definitely getting bigger and brighter. He’s rolling over with ease, and now prefers to sleep on his tummy. He loves to see himself in mirrors and lights up when he sees his giraffe toy – Gigi. He also went swimming for the first time this week. He absolutely loved it and had such a great time.  He also has figured out that he can scream. Sometimes he screams when he’s happy and sometimes he screams when he is mad. The latter is crazy loud and we have to nip that in the bud pretty quickly!  He’s also been going through a growth spurt this week and nursing him has gotten more difficult. We should have his 4 month appointment soon, so maybe we’ll be adding rice cereal to his diet. He is just as cute as ever though…

Word of the week “overwhelmed” I think I have post-moving depression. The house is in boxes and all I can do is look at them. unpacking, which i normally find fun and exciting just seems daunting right now. Hopefully it will be better once Mr. Project gets back into town. Also having closet organizers would help a bit too. Oh and a kitchen! It looks like we just might be in transition a bit longer with this move than others, and that’s okay. At least that is what I keep telling myself!

I just wanted to comment real quick and say HI. I have popped in on your blog now and then because I am addicted to color and textures. I wish I had the time and money to do something with my passion for creating things. I love what you are doing with your new home. That is probably more my passion than anything but I also LOVE paper. I get very excited about stationary. But the real reason I wanted to comment is I have a baby girl born March 8, 2011. I have enjoyed reading about Oliver because my Andie was obviously born around the same day. He is precious and I love what you do. God bless you and your family, LS
